You own a Wingstop in Memphis?
RR: I love it. I put it in one of my songs: “She’s thinking Philippe [restaurant] / I’m thinking Wingstop.” I know she wants fancy wine and all that, but boy, I’ll get you a nice lemonade to go with those lemon-pepper wings.
Your lyrics have lots of food references.
RR: I remember when I couldn’t afford to eat like this. It was ramen noodles and the San Francisco Treat [Rice-A-Roni]. Dessert? Get you a honey bun and put a slice of cheese on it. Put it in the microwave for 45 seconds and you had the gift of a lifetime.
The common denominator seems to be cheese.
RR: I ain’t gonna lie: I love that cheese.

Do you have a strategy for eating on a plane?
RR: You keep it light. You don’t want to use those little bathrooms.

"There’s been a lot of talk on the Internet about an OutKast album and I have to say that as of now, there are no plans for another OutKast album. There’s a lot of music on the horizon. I’ve been living off the excitement of new artists. I’ve been privileged to have these new artists kind of reach out and grab back and say, “Hey, Andre, we want you on this song.” So I’ve been taking those calls and for the last two years, I’ve been doing collaborations. So these new artists have kind of been keeping me alive. I’ve just really been feeding off of that and this year I think I’m planning to do a solo project. I don’t know when it will come out, but hopefully it’ll come out this year. As far as OutKast, I really don’t know if or when that will happen…The only thing I can really say [about the solo record] is I’m going to get back to having fun because that’s what it was all about when I started this in high school—with OutKast—those were like high school dreams. I’m 36 now, so I have grown-man dreams. This album will just be me being myself as normal."Andre 3000 in GQ

Beats, Rhymes, & Lif: Mr. Lif Tells It Like It Is (Okayplayer, 2009)
I didn’t include it in the interview, but I may be the only person who ever straight up asked Lif why he started doing that stretched out vocal style at the end of each bar that he used on the ‘Mo Mega’ album. He actually seemed pretty amused that I had both noticed and been able to verbalize the observation, and then gave me the answer…which I will never reveal.
