Fat Trel - Fuk Yo Life
Fat Trel - Fuk Yo Life
“BTS: YG (With Drake & Fat Trel) – I’m A Real 1”
The only reason this picture of Fat Trel with YG is important is because it means we can hope to hear Trel over a DJ Mustard beat some time soon.
Fat Trel - Deep Thought (No Smiles Remix)
This is the rough remix of Fat Trel’s “Deep Thought” that I did in the fall of 2011. I’m not sure how I feel about putting this online. The beat was really unfinished, the track wasn’t mixed at all and the same sample was used prominently in Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees” before I could sell a finished version of this shit. It was still cool to remix my favorite Trel song though.

Fat Trel - Zonin’
The Fat Gleesh releases a new joint for the fans as he finishes up his Smoker’s Tour. This time you can hear him over the smooth Kendrick Lamar/Dr. Dre record. No idea what his upcoming tape is called, but keep on the look for that.
Summer 2012 DC Rap Favorites mixtape (click-thru)
This is a mixtape I threw together last night. These are favorites from this summer/the best shit put out this summer. I tried not to include lots of mixtape songs or extremely popular ones like “Russian Roulette”. The only song not from this summer is the unreleased Trel one. Enjoy.
Tracklist (hopefully in order):
Lightshow - Cold
Glizzy Gang - Everything Glizzy
King Shug - My Shyt Say Work (Prod. by Jonny 5)
Fat Trel & Chief Keef - Fuck The Fedz (Prod. by Lex Luger)
Oochie Ft. Chief Keef and PWild - Show Money
Yung Gleesh - Demo
Fat Trel Ft. Young Moe & Rated R - No Drama (Unreleased)
Dew Baby - SS Remix
PWild Ft. SB - Trick Bag (Prod. By Young Clip)
Young Fly G & Phil Da Phuture - We Did Dat
Kingpen Slim - Born Alone, Die Alone (Prod. By Jahlil Beats)
Uptown Pacco - New Codes (Prod. by YB on the Beat)
Fat Trel f/ Chief Keef - “Fedz” (Mixtape, 2012)
Though Chief Keef and Fat Trel have united under the flag of street credibility and general shirtlessness, they are two very different rappers. Trel might be the last in his age group still rapping in a way that wouldn’t have gotten him laughed off the stage fifteen years ago while Keef is more modern, a conscientious deconstructionist (I presume) who would probably take great pride in knowing that his dead eyed rap style would’ve gotten him laughed off the stage before he was born. (Or at least he would proudly pretend to not know what the fuck you are talking about when you asked him what he thought of all that.)“Russian Roulette” didn’t completely work because it was Keef playing in Trel’s word heavy world, but that didn’t stop him from giving it another shot with “Fedz.” He fares a little better this time even though he’s mostly just jacked Trel’s flow directly (again). More impressive is how much this Lex Luger beat doesn’t feel like a Lex Luger beat while still definitely being a Lex Luger beat. Growth amongst goons is always welcome.
The forthcoming Slutty Boys/GBE DC To Drillinois tape should be interesting, if nothing else.
I found this old picture of Fat Trel on the Jukebox site when I should have been posting…it is odd (from an outsiders perspective) to see how he really grew up in the past two years…also note the t-shirt
Hold up, “Rolling” isn’t an original Fat Trel song? Really?

If you didn’t know, King Shug is one of the realest out of DC. He reps Uptown (Morton Street) but fucks with everyone. His mixtape, “Street Legend” dropped today. Aside from Shug’s ridiculous trap-raps, the tape also features Alley Boy, Fat Trel, Shy Glizzy, P-Wild, G’Town Wayne, Phil Da Future and Gordo Brega. This shit is a DC classic. Shug goes in on every track, but stand outs include “My Shyt Say Work”, “All I Know Is Loud”, “ICE” and “Whole Time.” Shug reminds me of older Gucci Mane but with a scratchy voice. Check this tape out cause Shug is about to blow up. He fucks with DTE, a whole bunch of notable ATL dudes and anyone important from the DMV. Check out the tracklist below, stream at Dat Piff

Chief Keef (Feat. Fat Trel) - Russian Roulette (Prod by Lex Luger)
there’s a lot i couldn’t fit from my conversations with the owner of DC Star and Glizzy’s manager from earlier today but probably the most disappointing bit that got cut was a line about glizzy’s manager twice emphasizing the fact that diddy’s security team, hired to work the door apparently, would be walking around with glizzys picture in their back pocket all night.
he also casually dropped that glizzy has strong affiliations with MMG, which you could’ve guessed but ok. what a neat and tidy narrative.
This shit is going on Jukebox.
Also, I’d be interested to see what else Benny T had to say about Trel. Also, Chief Keef better be careful in DC.
